Now, more than ever, literacy and mathematics are crucial skills for student achievement. A person’s success in K-12 and beyond can be traced back to their literacy and math learning strength as early as Kindergarten.
In the Fall of 2012, Tantasqua/Union 61 Regional School Districts introduced Parent Camp to the community. Parent Camp is an outreach program designed specifically for parents/guardians and their children. The camp focuses on ways in which parents/guardians can become partners in the education of their children.
Each year, a camp is held at each elementary school for grade K-6 students who attend the hosting school. We culminate the year with a pre-K to K step up parent camp designed for PreK students and their parents/guardians facing the challenging transition to Kindergarten.
Students receive a gift bag which includes reading and math activities that children and their parents can do together over the course of the year and during the summer. |
